Food and drink is something that connects everyone, so being able to support both businesses and candidates within such a fast-paced and essential sector is something I’m really enjoying.

Outside of work, you’ll usually find me watching whatever sport is on TV, ideally in a pub garden. If not, after playing tennis all my life, I have joined the Padel craze. I’m always keen to connect with new people in the industry.

Overview: Our client is a well-established food manufacturer with an excellent reputation for product innovation and quality. Due to continued growth and an exciting pipeline of new product development projects, they are looking to strengthen their Development Team with the appointment of a Product Developer.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with previous NPD experience to take ownership of exciting development projects, working closely with customers and internal teams to bring innovative products from concept through to successful launch.

Key Responsibilities:

  • As Product Developer, you will manage new product development and existing product improvement projects from concept through to launch.
  • Develop products in line with customer briefs, market trends and commercial objectives, ensuring products meet both quality and cost expectations.
  • Work closely with Technical, Production and Packaging teams throughout the development process, coordinating factory trials and supporting successful product launches.
  • Source raw materials and support packaging development whilst managing products through a structured development process.
  • Build strong relationships with customers, supporting presentations, product submissions and innovation projects across the business.
  • Support junior members of the development team, providing guidance and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Previous experience within a Product Developer, Development Technologist or similar NPD role within food manufacturing.
  • Experience managing products through the full development lifecycle, including factory trials and product validation.
  • Experience within a fast-paced food manufacturing environment, with exposure to cross-functional project teams.
  • Experience working with major retailers or foodservice customers would be advantageous.
  • Degree qualified in Food Science, Food Technology or a related discipline, or equivalent industry experience.
  • Strong communication, organisational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple development projects simultaneously.

Technical Manager

Overview: We’re partnering with a fast-growing food manufacturer that takes food safety and quality committed to the highest standards of food safety.

They’re now looking for an experienced Technical Manager to take full site ownership of food safety and quality. This is a senior, influential role where you’ll set technical direction, lead audit performance, and be the go-to for technical decisions.

Working closely with Operations, NPD and Hygiene, you’ll be central to driving standards, embedding best practice and ensuring the business remains consistently audit-ready.

About you
You’ll already be operating at a senior level within chilled food manufacturing and be confident owning the technical agenda on site. Specifically, you’ll have:

  • Substantial experience in Technical / Quality roles within food manufacturing (ideally fast-moving product environments), managing teams and instilling quality culture across site
  • As Technical Manager, you will have a strong track record of leading and delivering successful BRC and retailer audits
  • Confidence making decisions, solving problems and influencing stakeholders
  • A proactive, hands-on, attitude to their work, sharing the current team motivations and rive towards greater success.

The role
As Technical Manager, you’ll be responsible for:

  • End-to-end accountability for food safety and quality
  • Investigating non-conformances, complaints and incidents, completing root cause analysis and implementing robust corrective actions
  • Managing, maintaining and improving the Quality Management System to retain BRC accreditation
  • Leading HACCP development, review and implementation in line with legislation and best practice
  • Hosting customer visits and external audits, with full ownership of corrective actions
  • Tracking, analysing and reporting technical KPIs, driving corrective and preventative actions
  • Managing and overseeing hygiene teams, standards and performance across the factory
  • Managing supplier approval, raw material risk assessments and specifications to protect product integrity
  • Leading, coaching and developing the technical team, building strong food safety culture across the site

Working closely with the Health, Safety & Environment Manager, you'll play a key role in maintaining compliance, supporting audits, delivering training and driving a positive safety culture across the site. This is a varied, hands-on role with excellent exposure across all areas of the business.

About You:
• Previous experience working within a Health & Safety role within food manufacturing, FMCG or a similar manufacturing environment
• NEBOSH General Certificate (or currently working towards)
• Good knowledge of Health & Safety legislation, Risk Assessments, COSHH, Fire Safety and Manual Handling requirements

Overview:  This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Hygiene Manager to join a well-established food manufacturing business within the meat sector. Working a Monday to Friday night shift pattern, you will be responsible for leading the hygiene function, ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness, food safety and compliance are maintained across the site. 

You will play a key role in managing hygiene operations, supporting audit readiness and working collaboratively with departments across the business to maintain standards and drive continuous improvement. 

About You: 

  • Proven experience in a similar Hygiene Manager role within a food manufacturing environment 

  • Strong understanding of BRC, customer requirements and wider industry standards 

  • Experience managing and developing hygiene teams 

  • Able to demonstrate continuous improvement and best practice within hygiene operations 

  • As Hygiene Manager, you will have strong communication and people management skills 

What will you be doing? 

  • Manage and develop the site's hygiene team, ensuring standards are maintained across day and night cleaning operations 

  • Ensure all hygiene records are maintained accurately and are audit ready at all times 

  • As the Hygiene Manager, you will manage relationships with chemical suppliers and oversee hygiene-related activities across the site 

  • Host and lead hygiene audits, customer visits and site inspections 

  • Support HACCP activities, food safety systems and quality management processes
